Alongside the work, or on its own
Technical training can accompany commissioning, recommissioning, repair, modification and modernisation projects or be provided as dedicated system familiarisation.
What training covers
Training can cover system operation, interaction between mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and automation components, troubleshooting principles, maintenance considerations and the interpretation of available system information and diagnostics.
After a system changes
Particular importance is placed on knowledge transfer following system modifications and retrofit projects. Changes to control systems, components, safety functions or operating sequences must be clearly understood by the technical personnel responsible for subsequent operation and maintenance.
Where it applies
Where applicable and provided through appropriately qualified or recognised certification structures or partners, training may be combined with certification.
The objective is to ensure that technical knowledge generated during engineering, troubleshooting, repair, modification and commissioning remains available to the vessel and its technical personnel.
